Will earlier Defender wheels fit the Puma Defender?
Done a search but can't find a definite answer - will earlier Defender wheels fit a 2008 Puma Defender? What is the maximum tyre size that will not rub with standard suspension Question

Thanks

Yes they will fit. Thumbs Up

I run 285's on 8.5 inch wheels without any problems.

We run 255/85/16 tyres on standard suspension and on a 2" lift on our 110's. These tyres have a 33" diameter. No problems with a 33" diameter tyres on standard suspension.

Adjust your front steering stops so that the front wheels just touch the front radius arms for best turning circle.

Keep in mind that not everything fits perfectly out of the box. I just installed a set of ANR 1534 HD steel wheels ("old" d130/NAS 110 style) on my 09 Puma and I had to grind a few mms off the outside edge of the rear brake calipers for clearance.

I thought there were certain restrictions? Some 90's have a lower load rating that 110/130 models?

There was a thread warning that some wheels are lower-rated for weight than others...

See LandRoverAnorak's reply to this thread:
Quote:
Freestyles (and the earlier 200 series alloys - Castor?) are not rated for a 110. ISTR they're only rated at 850kg, whereas Boosts are 1100kg. Freestyles were only ever offered on 90's for this reason.

Very true - however IIRC Mermoto has a 90 so should be ok. What Martin says is correct - although the studs and PCD is the same meaning the wheels will fit you need to bear in mind that not all the wheels are rated for a 110 or 130. John

And ... he did state 'Defender' wheels.
All will fit all ... earlier models were not actually 'Defenders', but Landrover 90. 110 etc Razz Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

They've been Defenders since 1991 but some wheels fitted since then are still not rated for the larger models - Freestyle ones in particular. If the OP has a 90 then it's not specifically an issue, but as a general statement, I'm afriad all won't fit all. Darren

Yeah, of course. I was paraphrasing, but the reality is that whilst they'll all physically fit on the hubs, some just aren't suitable for some models. Darren

LOL ... but he didnt ask if they are/were 'suitable', only 'will they fit'?

So yes, all will fit all Razz Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
