Check your nuts!
Greasing up the propshafts this afternoon and checking the securing nuts and bolts I found both the front prop to pinion flange and rear prop to output flange fixings were not tight. I know this is a known potential issue but just thought I'd mention it again, I discovered the same with both my last Puma and at least one of my previous TD5's as well. Steve.

I think it was the last TD5 110 XS I had which went in for an under warranty replacement rear pinion seal. I went over, collected the vehicle, drove it home but no matter how carefully I changed gear I realised there was a bit more clunking, play and vibration in the driveline than there was before. Got back, stuck it up on the ramps for a look-see and found the rear prop bolts were not fully done up Shocked Steve.

I don't want to appear lazy, not bothered to google etc, but, what torque should the prop bolts be set at? I'd like to check mine while it's still light outside! ... ,-------,

Don't worry you can't over tighten the unf nylock nuts as they are made from the finest Solihull hardened "cream cheese" metal and thet will round off first guarenteed. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
