2.Stacey007 3.Grenadier 4.Blackwolf (but only for a Safety Devices RBL172 7SSS, not any of the other makes discussed) 5 Race.it (only SD cage for a 110 dont know model, but no inside bars, only outside) 6. So as I live in Spain it needs to be homologated to Spanish law (they make that up as they go along) but from what I know only the SD is allowed to be mounted. I would also need it shipped to Spain (and as I think they are made in Europe then it would be good to come direct and not via UK as to avoid the extra expenses). As Grenadier is also in the Eurozone maybe its possible. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

I can only recommend to install safety cages. For your own safety.

I suspect demand may increase with people replicating these :

Having gone from I need a roll cage, through this car is so dangerous I should be swapping into a newer car and back to a roll cage. I notice landrover haven't put the internal hoop in. It does feel like you'd want to be wearing a helmet with so much steel tube near your head. |

^^^ Isn’t it a continued irony that despite the much vaunted new Def, LR continue to release ‘classics’ at exorbitant prices, highlighting the demand/their popularity, when they said production would definitively stop in 2016. Wonder how long they can keep this going. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Interesting. Where do you think they’re made Race.it? As for delivery, I’d be interested to know how much they would charge for both to be delivered to the EU. As it happens I’ll be in Seville in April, so not too far from Algeciras, and need to be back in the UK in Spring, so maybe the cost of delivery would match the ferry to Bilbao and drive to Seville, as an option? When I spoke to them last time they were made in Belgium (or around that area). but that may of changed now for Brexit. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Emailed SD and basically had no interest in it
fobbed me off to Britpart/allmakes which is quite rubbish really. 
not very caring about their image supplying enthusiasts just the easy money selling to resellers So if anyone is still interested I will email the resellers. Apart from the 'sitting' further out on the whitbread one has / can anyone confirm it's as strong? If they can modify it to fit at the front ad the SD one and its a strong then I'm happy to go down that route? As you say already they are keen whereas the big boys don't want to know? After thinking abut a cage for 7 years something will be better than nothing? |
