Thanks for clarification, I will definitely do the trade in option since I am using the tool quite regularly. Would also be ready to do some beta testing if needed.

Cheers and I wish everyone nice Xmas Holidays

Cheers Greg

Wow, what an amazing upgrade. This could open up many more possibilities in the future. Thank you so much GAP team and I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
I can't wait to get my new G4 and see what we can do with it.

Hi Everyone,

While the IIDTool has proven itself very reliable and adept at performing all types of functions on newer Land Rover vehicles including the L663 Defender, many of you will have noticed that a few functions including CCF/retrofits have not functioned properly. This is due to the IIDTools G3s interface which does not include the newer DoIP (diagnostics over IP) standard which leaves us with no choice but to update the hardware and introduce an IIDTool G4.

The G4 will enter into production in the coming weeks and we will be looking for beta users shortly. The IIDTool G4 will be marginally more expensive than the G3.

In order to ensure that nobody is shortchanged - especially those who have only recently purchased an IIDTool for their newer Land Rover - all IIDTool G3 users will be offered an advantageous exchange program. G3 owners who have activated their IIDTool after the 1st of October 2022 on a 2017+ car will get a special price. Others will also have an upgrade path similar to what we have done previously for G1 and G2 owners.

Please be aware, with this change to a G4 you will no longer have functionality on the 2002 to 2009 Range Rover L322. The IIDTool G3 will continue to be offered for these vehicles as well as those currently covered by this hardware. Customers will be able to choose between a G3 and G4 depending on budget and vehicle coverage requirements.

We will provide more details after the holiday break.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and loyalty and we would especially like to thank those users who have helped us by providing feedback and helping other users in the forums Thumbs Up

Happy holidays and a great New Year to everyone!

Thank you for this update Patrick and I look forward to upcoming announcements as to availability of the G4! I would be interested in the beta testing as well.

lt will be interesting to see how much more can be done with the new version.

Maybe set the more accurate speedometer without getting error codes?

If the new tool can read and clear / relearn the DADC module errors which presumably it can then it should be able to enable ATPC, ACC, TR2 auto and possibly park assist plus others. MY23 D250 Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

Hello everyone! First time, long time Smile

Just a few anecdotes regarding my experiences with the G3 tool on a 2021 D90. P400 X-Dynamic.

The summaries by Ian are great and I can confirm that most confirmed settings work for me. The exception is the auto stop/start. GAP confirms that this doesn't work for my configuration as not all models work yet, but I assume this will eventually be addressed. It's probably the reason I bought the G3 but I like the rest of the features so far.

Like many, the Dynamic mode can be activated by the tool but I don't have the fancy red gauges. My dash, footwell and rear passenger lights respond in red, however. I can report that without a doubt, there is a performance boost in what feels like the turbo boost. I haven't paid attention yet to the gearing but I assume it's more aggressive. Can't tell a difference in steering response or tightness but haven't pushed it to the limit either. Suspension is not applicable since I have springs and no air suspension.

Also like many, any attempt at activation of automated parking or adaptive cruise control results in the famous emergency braking failure error, as expected.

Confirmed that due to my recent purchase of the G3 I'll be eligible for the G4 transition (with a marginal cost diff due to the upgraded hardware) so I'm looking forward to that.

Glad to meet a community of D2 enthusiasts!

Cheers,
