Drive belt - life expectancy
Anyone know the life expectancy of the engine ancilliaries drive belt on the Puma, or have recommendations for the mileage at which it should be changed?

I noticed a new albeit faint squeak from my engine which happens once per complete revolution of the belt, and wondered if it was a warning sign. My belt appears to be the original and has done c.85k miles; it looks in good condition and hasn't got oily or contaminated.

Failure on the road would be inconvenient since it drives just about everything on the Puma!

keep an eye out for the wire in the belt starting to show then change it 2.4 90 XS

On my check sheet it says 200k km which is about 120k miles so if it looks ok it probably is. 130 crew cab

Yes, UK service sheet shows replace drive belt at 120K miles

If in doubt change it as it only takes 30 minutes but draw a diagram of all the toothed gears first as it will help with re-fitting the correct way. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..
