I have a seat rail extender to give me a bit of extra leg room. However, with the driver's seat in my normal position the rear seats will not fold down due to catching on the back of the driver's seat. I have to slide the driver's seat forward then try to remember where it was set.

Now I've installed a memory driver's seat. Only took a few seconds and no electrickery required Very Happy

I've been working on a little Arduino based display for CAN data to go in the blank space on the rev counter.

At the moment it shows manifold pressure. Turbo boost to the right and vacuum on the left. Under that ambient and engine temperature. Still investigating other possible data.

At the moment I'm just using a little OLED that I had in my workshop. I'm investigating a larger OLED. As the code matures, I'll publish it to GitHub. Stay tuned.

I like this project. I trust that you know what you are doing and that it is not the real engine temperature Thumbs Up Will be watching with great interest. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

No it's not real data. I have another Arduino on the CAN bus sending test data. This allows me to do development work inside in the warm and not freezing in the garage.

I'm using off the shelf components and I'll publish all the details on GitHub once I'm past the prototype stage. Stay tuned.

On the rev counter there is an empty space where the trip computer would be. JLR did not fit one. The instrument cluster is connected to the CAN bus which provides all sorts of metric data about the engine. Using an Arduino to read data from the CAN bus and display it on an OLED screen. A DIY trip computer.

Metrics I plan to show:

Ambient temperature with frost warning
Detailed engine temperature
Turbo boost
Average MPG
Available fuel range

I hope this makes sense.

Just in case you want to consider exhaust temperature and dpf soot load ☺️
I think on a 2.2 the exhaust temperature can be a bit alarming during regen... but I know that for a diesel it is the ‘life’ of the engine. Dpf soot load would interest me as I do regular short trips as no motorways locally, but from soot load would know when I need to take corrective actions either in driving habit or to consider an forced regen before it gets too late.

Looks very promising Thumbs Up 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Thank you, I thought that was what it was but wasn't sure Embarassed Very interested in this. I know you can mount a scanguage in this place behind the dash for similar effect. I'm sure i read somewhere that someone was close to making the Discovery display work in the Puma, but not seen much on this recently.

I'll be watching with interest. Thank you. Bow down James
