Moneypit, if its any help, they recon one of the daewoo cars is a mk2 astra in drag, Might be worth sniffing at one, for odds and sods. Been said that daewoo model was also used to reshell these too. Not sure how true that is Thumbs Up
Great to hear you are keeping it factory, i did the same with the metros, bar under bonnet, even then i did keep it as factory as possible under there too.
The blue one, i went all blue, ( got hold of a set of blue seat belts) Thumbs Up
If things were not getting silly, i may have gotten rid of the 306 for the defender, but that car owes me bot all,and its too good a car to get rid Thumbs Up Only thing that bites is me getting the original wheels balanced Sad Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Nexia was based on an Astra but when a friend tried to replace a blown engine in one with a Vauxhall lump everything on the engine was different, ended up stripping the engine back to a bare block and head and fitting all the Daewoo ancillaries, swore he'd never do another one
Not having as many issues with parts as I expected, panels can be found with a little digging around on the web. Seems there are only a few difficult parts to get

yeah i thought things would be a little different in a few areas, like saabs are to vauxhalls. same running gears but you have to swop over a lot.
You might get those hard parts else where in the world, i had to get bits from Netherlands for the rover metro, that i could not get hold of in the uk at all. Spoiler caps were one item i remember. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
