"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

It’s the Trackstar system that JLR supply as aftermarket cat5 that has a separate fob. I have it and it’s a bit of a pain having to keep them separate. There is always a temptation to put the fob on the keyring, but that would make it no better than the Secure tracker pro.

I got it because at the time, LR insurance wouldn’t cover a 21 my XD D300 without one! Since I got it I found that NFU would, but I had already paid for it.

Luckily Land Rover's own service manual literally tells you how to remove the backup battery and disable the system.

"There is an internal antenna in the TCU when the GSM antenna is disconnected or fails. The internal antenna is used as a backup GSM antenna. The backup GSM antenna is used to re-establish communication with the TSP."

So pretty much just remove the TCU and destroy it or place it in a foil bag.

Of course the TCU not being present will prevent the vehicle being started, but this can be easily reprogrammed with clever Eastern european software. I guess what I'm saying is don't rely on an OEM device which can be easily researched and bypassed.

Maybe just find another way of going about it and get a 3rd party solution.

I’m sorry, but to my mind publishing things like this on a public forum isn’t helpful.

Those that want / need access to the manual can use it - but why put vulnerabilities (if in fact they are) on here?
