2005 defender 90 TD5 diagnostic port reader

Hi there could do with some advise
I have a 2005 defender 90 TD5 I have plugged a reader into the diagnostic port which does power the reader so it's not a connection port issue. But it fails to read anything on scan like it can't understand it. But I works on my son's 2004 landrover

Does anyone know if the 2005 90 is ODB2 compliant?

Or what diagnostic reader I could use?

Thanks, for the info looks like I would need a NCOM01 for TD5 engined models £280.

Anyone aware of any cheep ones as I'm only wanting to view any present errors

Yeah, td5 isn't fully OBDII compliant. You can use an android device and free Td5 app

This is the one I use

If its a basic spec vehicle you'll likely get ABS, AC and tacho drive errors justso you know

Do you know where I can download that Td5 tester can't find it in the app store

Also a VAG COM KKL usb -> OBD2 cable that uses an FTDI chip.

It's not in the app store, you need to download from github link I posted and install it directly to your device (allow 3rd party apps in settings if not already)

Edit: changed link to direct Google drive link - install the appropriate APK file from that. As for a comm cable I already had one that worked so can't say where to get one I'm afraid

Ive downloaded the file as a zip on my android tablet but can't unzip. There doesn't seem to be any instructions on how to install and run
