2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 CSW Keswick Green

Steering issue after dash removal

Hi, I’ve just put the dash back having replaced the passenger side wiper spindle, which now all works fine. The problem is the steering, it’s now really sluggish and nowhere near as light as it was before, it’s also really unpredictable on the turn and feels like it’s going to roll every time I turn gradual right or left on a faster road. Ive removed the steering wheel and put back on but there no change.

I removed the dash a few months ago for a different reason and didn’t have any issue with the steering then. Is it likely I’ve knocked something when putting the ignition casing back on...any ideas great received!!

2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Orkney Grey

Take it off again and make sure the blue plastic bit for the indicator return is lined up correctly. Had similar on mine after I changed the steering column and it felt heavy and weird after putting it back together. I had the plastic bit out by 90deg.

Hope it is a similar easy fix for you.

Thanks Scot, I’ll take a look. Fingers crossed it’s a simple fix...too many hours on a wiper spindle already!!
