It is not a stupid question but one that is a little more difficult to answer.

You say it revs fine, so no strange sounds. So I expect it is something to do with electronics. At least not mechanical inside the engine. Based on this I think I would have no problems driving that short section.

Is your oil level still OK not a little higher then expected? Roel

The oil is on the high side. Aprox 0,5-1cm above the top marker on the stick.
What does that mean?

Not that difficult to do yourself. The video shows special tools to get the injector out but that is not needed.

Found a new possible issue.
There’s a sound, like air is leaking, from the fuel regulator when the fuel pump is running. Should is do that?

If you hear air but it doesn't leak diesel, can it not be air that is purged back to the tank?

It should not leak air as there should not be air. If it is failing it normally leaks diesel.

I would first worry about the injector seals and then have a look if the regulator still makes noises. But without leaks don't worry. Roel

Are you sure you hear air? With in tank fuel pump working, the fuel pressure regulator is holding constant fuel pressure in engine and what is over, it is releasing back to tank. This is made by a regulating element in the fuel pressure regulator, with some small "hole" in it. And fuel flowing through this "hole" makes noise like escaping pressured air.
Air in fuel makes different noise - bubbling. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Thanks for all the input!!
I decided to drive her to a garage where I can change the washers and orings.
Turns out, when the engine temperature goes up, the problem disappears.

I’m still going to change the washers, but this was a relief.

Turned the engine about one revolution counter clockwise while i was tightening the first screw on the injector. I wasn't thinking it might hurt the engine, but now it's difficult to rotate the engine clockwise. It turns, but rotates back to same position.

Did I hurt the engine turning it counter clockwise?

I expect that the valves are closed on the cylinder and now you have sealed the injector you are compressing the air in the bore when you try to rotate the crank, hence it bounces back when you let go the spanner. I can’t see why this would be an issue as you have not touched the timing chains and sprockets.

Thinking a little more on this. There is a possibility that the timing chain could have jumped a tooth etc by rotating counter clockwise, I expect the experts will be able to advise.
I suppose you could loosen off the injector so the seal is Brocken then manually rotate clockwise to see if all is still rotating ok. But not sure if it’s ok to loosen then re tightening new injector seals. Again those more qualified will be able to advise.

it bounces back when you let go the spanner. this will be compression as you bring the piston up to TDC

if you think chain has jumped line up the timing indicator's between cam Shraft and the crank
