 Click image to enlarge All the axle gubb8ns fitted to both sides now. They seemed ok but as I was replacing half shaft and drive flange on the NS I also replaced the wheel bearing. In between the downpours i also checked the front as the steering seemed a bit vague with some lag at the steering wheel. Bearings seem ok but the OS swivel has play in it so that is on the jobs list as well now. I sold the wolf rims and bfg mud terrains i had bought as I now have bow sourced another set with Goodyear mtr on. Add that to the I kept from the last set I now have 6 with matching tyres and good tread. They will be going on after the chassis treatment is done. |

Dropped the roof rack and a couple of the roll cage bars at the powder coaters today for a blast and recoat. £300 to do the Hannibal rack which I thought was pretty good.

They did do a decent job, I am very pleased with the result. Thought the price was reasonable too.

Car is off having the rear a frame checked out as the gaiter is perished and I want it all sorted underneath before it goes off to have the chassis sorted. Booked in with Chris at CC Automotive af half term for Dinitrol treatment. Once that is done I will decide whether to run it as is for the winter or set to and tackle the body and cosmetics.
Bit more purchasing in anticipation. New roof panel. Current one is a modified van one and also has holes where some kind of roof rack has been in the past. Click image to enlarge Rear side windows to replace the solid ones. Ally plate has been riveted over window openings and it a bit of a state. Might keep the hatch but not decided yet. Rear a frame now sorted as well as the front swivel bearing. Vague steering turned out to be a very loose arm off the steering box. Now tight and steering is ok again.
Nice long (and very wet) jet was session ON Sunday to try and clear out as much crude as possible underneath and in the chassis rails. Also been stripping off a few bits to try and get the beat result from its chassis treatment next week. Bumper off, rear x member cleaned up where I had to cut off the towbar and removed the rock sliders. Also fitted the wolf wheels so the boosts can go. |

Last minute dash on Wednesday night to collect the 110 FROM Chris (Zagato) after its chassis treatment. Fingers crossed that will keep it sweet for a few years.
I seem to have some time on my hands again as with the 90 so I took the plunge and decided to make a start on sanding the old Raptor paint job. Unfortunately it seems like very little prep was done before it was sprayed so it is chipping and peeling all over the place. This may take a while

I think the plan now is the same colour scheme as the 90. Black roof, arches, hinges and trim. Orange bodywork. Tinted rear windows. Black hannibal rack on the roof and I am sat on the fence about the full external roll cage I got for it. I like the idea of the safety but not sure about the look. Up next. More sanding. Swap roof and sides and sell them on. Whilst I have the roof off I will also remove the screen frame and sort out the little bit of rust on the the top of the bulkhead and replace the seals. Tempted to fit a heated screen while i am at it. And as I froze my but off on weds night I thing a diesel heater (finest chinese) for the cab I think. |

Not much action on the 110 due to other commitments but have been preparing.
Paint and materials ordered and on their way. Clarke instant garage bought son8 can keep it under cover as I strip it and work on it. Gathering parts (wiring, lights and other electricals). Re covered the headlining last night. It was in reasonable nick but completely saggy. Job for this weekend is erecting the Clarke garage but I couldn't resist stripping a few bits as it was dry. Snorkel and chequer plate off.
Someone has worked really hard doing a bad job on this car previously 
I thought the prep on the paint was bad but I didn't know quite how bad. I can actually scrape off the raptor in many places. Clean shiny paintwork underneath. No wonder it didn't stick. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Might need scrapers instead of a sander
