TD5 prices
I am sure that other people are the same as me and are constantly looking on Ebay and AutoTrader at the prices of Defenders.

I've noticed that since December the prices of Defenders and in particular TD5s has shot up. The price for a good, late TD5 is £15k and over. Whether these prices are realistic or whether they are actually achieved is a different story, but in general the prices have gone up a lot. Time will tell to see what happens, but if you want a good TD5 you are going to need deep pockets.

prices definitely gone up , I had mine up fprsale at £12500 earlier in year and took it of market due to covid and time wasters
only reason I was selling was to buy a 110 ....... I recently asked a dealer how much he'd offer as px on a 110 he had in stock and he offered £14500.

ive been looking for a similar condition 110 either Tdi or td5 and none have been as good condition as my 90 and they have all been more than £15K so yes prices privately and at dealers are rising..... Have fun be happy

Certainly prices have gone up..

My old 110 has sat probably all of this year, covering a handful of miles only. The battery went utterly dead, but a fresh replacement is now residing in her and (i think) on a battery conditioner.

I was asked about value and I reckoned £12k was easily achievable, though I expect it could fetch more!

Now with Sawtooths and BFG muds.
He'll sell as he'd like an Audi Avant.

Maybe because of covid19 people are having to sell their pride and joy but arent willing to part with it unless they get alot of money?? I'm finding i may be in this position with a baby due in 5 weeks and the wife maybe not having a job to go back to after maternity leave, also my job at risk too. Hate to say it and haven't suggested it to the wife yet but it may come down to me parting ways with my 110 td5, although if that did happen then i would want more than i paid for it otherwise I'd be pretty upset Crying or Very sad only had it nearly a year after saving for ages!

In some ways I wish these didn't hold/appreciate in value so well as it does make you feel that you have to justify keeping it the more valuable it becomes Rolling Eyes

I didn't have the same feeling with my old 4 to 5k Discovery... Whistle

That’s a lovely looking HICap, difficult to believe you have had no luck selling it. I had a late 300Tdi a very practical vehicle.

l've just had my pristine 2005 90 XS Station Wagon up for sale on Ebay/Autotrader and various forums at £18,000 ono and not a single enquiry.
Looking online it did seem that prices were in the order £16-20,000 for good ones.

Eventually after getting nowhere l sold it to a dealer this week for £16,750

l don't know if dealers can achieve more but they've put it up at £20,995. l had no calls at all on it, plenty of views (over 800 on Ebay)

l thought later TD5's particularly the XS SW were the best sellers. But it you look on Ebay at "sold" listings, most of the sold ones are under £12,000

Some sellers are listing at silly prices, £24,000 and more for TD5's and that may be encouraging people to think "mine's worth that" and try their luck.

l also had it for sale on this forum at £18,000 and the general advice was that the price was a bit high. Apparently Puma Station Wagons are dropping below that price and many buyers prefer those.

Whilst Nidge's 110 is indeed lovely, I'm not sure that it's a good indicator of general Defender prices. A 110 hi-cap is a niche vehicle at the best of times. Darren

I am different, I don't bother what my 90 td5 is worth on the moment as I like it and do not have any plan to sell it. Roel
