Netherlands 2004 Defender 110 Td5 SW Auto Zambezi Silver
Td5 starts, idles for a moment and stops with sharp taps
Td5 starts, runs idle for a moment and stops with sharp taps.



Sounds like a heavy mechanical problem.
- bit of oil in red ecu plug
- wiring of crankshaft sensor breaks in jacket, repaired
- crankshaft sensor is good
- injector wiring under valve cover renewed
- Fault codes on all 5 injectors
- injectors were all 5 controllable with Hawkeye
- extra mass made from battery min to ecu
- fuelpump in tank makes no noise

Turns out ecu is broken.
Temporarily fixed with a disco ecu
Engine runs fine again, only the cooling water temperature gauge now works wrong...

That is a result from the Disco Ecu. Roel

2003 90 Td5 (2009-now)
