Does anyone know if Ashcrofts are coming up with an adapter shaft upgrade on the TDCi. Pat

I think as long as there greased then you got a good chance of them being ok anyway

I think there strong enough its just the lack of lube much the same as the drive flanges , flanges only seem to wear when there dry

same as any normal car really if the splines are dry they wear , props do it , drive shafts do it on front wheel drive stuff, even steering shafts do it

The stealers service foreman here was most reluctant to grease it when they replaced the transfer case. I pleaded and he agreed to but who knows if they did. Sad

Reason given is that it wasn't a service item...... Shocked As an apprentice building gearboxes for road pavers/graders etc I always greased bearings and oiled all shafts and gears etc as a normal part of the assembly process.
Maybe LR can't afford a dob of grease.
