 I think there strong enough its just the lack of lube much the same as the drive flanges , flanges only seem to wear when there dry same as any normal car really if the splines are dry they wear , props do it , drive shafts do it on front wheel drive stuff, even steering shafts do it | ||

As an apprentice building gearboxes for road pavers/graders etc I always greased bearings and oiled all shafts and gears etc as a normal part of the assembly process. Maybe LR can't afford a dob of grease. AlanH. | ||
