Roof Rack Lights
My current lockdown job is tackling some bits of corrosion & treating my 110 to some dinitrol treatment.

But i'm starting to line up the next job, which I think will be to add driving lights to my roof rack.

I have my eye on four 6" roadrunners. Are these any good?

I'm also thinking I could take the high-beam signal from under the bonnet, take that back to a couple of relays in the battery box and run some cables under the truck back to the ladder, up the back of the ladder and along the roof to the front of the rack (avoiding drilling any holes). How has everyone routed their cables?

Any pictures of your setups?

Cheers

Instead of running cables that way, have a look at drilling the gutter, and running cables into the cab and down the b pillar. It;so simple and a neat job. I’ve done it both sides, and run the cables under the roof rack, unless y;u look, you can’t see the cables

Thanks. that sounds a much better idea.

So down through the gutter & then presumably through the soft filler between B pillar / roof / door frame?

There are two cables going through that gutter.... one for the front, one for the rear

When drilling into the gutter, start from the top and drill down, use a step drill, it’s double skinned and alignment is what it seems looking up, if you get my drift.

Then drill into the door frame, cut the door seal and silicone the lot up!
