TDCi 2.2 Fuel useage?
So done a few miles in my 90 H/T (mostly towing initially) and worked out i was getting around early 20's MPG on average.......even when not towing i may have been guilty of a slightly heavy right foot so never really fussed about it

Have done the last few tanks at a more reasonable pace, not dawdling but have made a conscious effort to cruise under 70 (as figured the brick like aero wouldn't help) covering a real good mix of A/B roads and some faster Dual Carriageway
Worked out its around 27mpg and just wondered how this fares with others use

The truck only has around 12K on it currently so may well still be a bit tight?? Isn't really of any issue just a bit intrigued as others on here seemed to suggest they were better than this on fuel??

I got 28.5 mpg on a run with my 110 van, empty except for me and Mrs JtP, a couple of years back. That was measured full tank to full tank over around 150 miles, mostly motorway and Fast A roads, and religiously obeying all the speed limits (as always).

Note how important that 0.5 mpg is...! I've not tried it again since my BAS tune.

I'd say you were spot-on.

Mine with alive stage 2 remap, alive intercooler and hoses and not to heavy with my right foot on alsorts of roads and I get 30mpg Thumbs Up I use 2 tanks of fuel a week and have to record my mileage to get expenses from work so know this is accurate Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90

Touring with the 110 (2015 2.2) including motorways at upto 70mph, 27 or 28 mpg is what I get.
Running around daily stuff, short runs stop/start, then it's down to 24 mpg.
Push it beyond 70mph and its down to 22 or 23 mpg.

I'd also say you're spot on.

Most of my driving is the daily commute consisting of twisty country lanes followed by city traffic (or the reverse on the way home). My current average is just under 26mpg and I'm reasonably sure that it's the stop/start traffic that's the killer as it's better on a run. Having said that, the Puma 'package' makes it easy to sit at illegal speeds on the motorway, at which point aerodynamics or lack thereof, is the overriding issue. Darren

Depends how heavy your right foot is. Mine can vary from 31/2 cruising on the motorway all the way down to 19 cruising a smidge faster Whistle

This is really interesting to see the replies.

Before I got mine, nearly five years ago, I decided not to worry about the MPG. I did start to collect the diesel receipts and record the mileage but I never bothered.

Previously, like Sulisuli, I had to record my mileage (with a company car) for expenses and took a lot of interest on my MPG to be sure it was always costing less to drive than what I was being reimbursed per mile by my employer. Over a few years of records, with three different cars, I can categorically say that if my cars were the same as everyone elses, the MPG figure on the dash was nowhere near the reality of the hard maths!!

I can say that my 110 2.2 does around 300 - 320 miles to a near enough full tank. Using premium diesel on a run (60-70mph motorway driving) when I took the truck down to Zagato end of last year, that figure increased to nearly 400 miles to the tank.

I have been using Millers additive for 4 - 5 fill ups now and that doesn't seem to have made an appreciable difference to the MPG.

I've periodically checked mine over the use she's been subjected to and with the 'evidence'
of now 40K clocked up over 6 years there is a predicable pattern for me...

2.4 (not 2.2) tdci Standard Engine set up but with 275/60R20 Tyres

General Country Lane Driving 24-26 MPG
Motorway (average 70 MPH) 22 MPG
Motorway (average 50 MPH) 26-28 MPG
Motorway Towing (average 50-60 MPH) 22 MPG

Best 31.5 MPG over 250 Miles (Motorway at 50-60 MPH)
Worst 19 MPG over 225 Miles (Towing NC500)

Unsurprisingly what makes a real difference (positively) is maintaining an average speed
at around 50 MPH, carrying every bit of momentum when stuff happens, and as far as possible
driving without using your breaks.

One accessory that I initially dismissed a feature of as 'a gimmick' but which I know has
progressively 'encouraged' me to drive more economically is the Scangauge II and it's
Average MPG display... I have set my tyre size into this and it's remarkably accurate.

over 600 miles on a standard 110 tank - 40 mpg.

BUT - that's taking it proper steady.

I work on - anything over 500 miles happy,
anything less than 500 miles - not so happy.

My 90 2.2 SW will get 300 miles to the tank if I'm lucky... I think that's about 22/3 MPG

That's not particularly changed since I've had it which includes standard setup, Stage 1 from Dynachip and now Stage 2 from IRB and I definitely drive it harder now than I ever have Thumbs Up
