I have had to change my switch, The system didn't reset, i put the wipes on the 1st setting and gave the wipers a gentle pull towards me. Then the activated, all is good now. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I’ve had this problem as well lately. Spindles and motor replaced, but I’m trying to find new wiper arms. All the suppliers only seem to show left hand drive vehicles for a Puma 110.

Any suggestions of which might be suitable?

I just did my park switch last night... what a crappy stupid 1950's crappy design!

had a genuine Lucas new switch, it wouldn't "clip" into place as the clip kept popping off of the switch itself. I tried poking a screwdriver (thin one), and a hacksaw blade behind it to pop it into place but it wouldn't play.

So I just whipped the 2 wiper arms off, undid the large nut and pulled the whole motor out (complete with the very greasy cable, so be careful)

stuck it on the workbench, took the gearbox cover plate off, and with a screwdriver you can poke it right through the gearbox and lever the C clip into place to lock the switch.... took about 5 mins all told.

Just got to reassemble the dash now.

All working fine, rebuilt the dash, changed the main washer pump (went to a scrapyard today and robbed one off of a freelander, slightly taller than the defender ones, clipped right in, better pressure, result!)

Fired it up again to "double check" it was AOK, turned wipers off and they keep going.... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

FFS.... lucas stuff really is sh!te.... its nearly as bad as shtpart....
