2.2Tdci MY2015 hesitation
I have noticed the occasional hiccup at about 1600-1700RPM when driving in town, with the engine fully warmed up to temperature. It feels like an instantaneous loss of power, and I haven't noticed it at any other speed. There is no warning light present.

Having read the existing threads, I have checked for any loose or frayed wires on the engine loom, but nothing is apparent.

The vehicle has done 58,000 miles and has the DPF. Any thoughts relating to this particular set-up?

HI.. I have had the same intermiitent power loss issue recently 59k, 2015 Model year. I also had the MIL light come up and error code P0404. No idea if related but reset the code and so far light has not come back. No idea whats going to happen next but thought it might be of some help. Smile 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

P0404 is the EGR valve...

I had the exact same issue with hiccups, new EGR valve fitted today and driving is now back to normal

yep me too - 2015 with 48k on the clock,. maybe once a fortnight I get the hiccup. other than that it has been fine apart from once the missus was driving and it lost all power and she had to pull over. Restarted it, fine. No lights and no error codes. weird.

I haven't had any lights yet, but the fault seems to be happening a bit more often. I'll clean the MAF sensor as suggested first, but if that doesn't work I'll have to see if I can find the EGR valve.

The MAF sensor looked pretty clean, but I gave it a go with brake cleaner as suggested anyway.

As far as the EGR valve is concerned, has anybody stripped and cleaned one of these rather than fitting a new one? I am guessing that they fill up with Marmite, but may respond to a good clean out? As I haven't had any error lights yet, I wonder if mine may just be a bit sticky.

NOOO Don't use brake cleaner you need to use the proper MAF sensor cleaner.

I got the impression that a Ford one is a lot less than a Land Rover one. Has anybody successfully used a Ford part on a 2.2 TDCi?

Did you get anywhere with your enquiries? I still have no fault lights at the moment, but I have noticed the hesitation a litttle more regularly.

Hi Gladys
I have purchased a good low mileage secondhand unit off eBay. Going to probably give it a clean and see how it goes
I have the MIL light and p0404 code but the car drives fine. I think the valve is jamned shut or slightly open. Bit of a gamble but worth a try. I do have extended Land Rover warranty but couldn’t be bothered with the likely grief of it all
