Homemade Puma dual battery tray
Introducing patented Mk1 Bluest Puma Dual Battery Tray! Finely crafting from 3 bits of scrap, cut up and together with a welder then sloppily hand painted in chassis black. Fits to the existing battery tray mounting holes and allows the fitment of two standard size batteries side by side.

This is it in position. Please excuse the filth, everything is covered in Dinitrol.

Looks like a nifty solution. Well done.

Just a thought... looks a little "light" to me to take the load of 2 batteries and offroad vibration and loadings. But I'm no expert on these things... I assume you have mimicked available commercial solutions so I'm probably off track!

Cheers
Mike

I did wonder if it would be a bit floppy and could add some extra strengthening if needed, but once I got it in with the batteries on its rock solid. It’s mostly 4mm steel so fairly chunky. I’ll put a picture up with the batteries in later. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

4mm steel... ok that will be fine. Looked thinner gauge in the photos!
Thumbs Up

On reflection overnight, I’m going to take it out make some mods to it to incorporate a battery clamp. I was going to use a ratchet strap but going for something more solid. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
