Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
New Product Land Rover Defender Fuel Filler Guard
While waiting endlessly in vain for someone to start manufacuring again a Defendoor fuel filler cover or similar, I noticed this product from Defender Upgrades perhaps a little pricey compared to the Defendoor but a nice little mod none the less.
Available from 15th April...

My first thought was the text had been spat out by google translate.

Then I read the bit about Yorkshire and realised it was penned by a semi-literate.

Shocking.

Land Rover Defender Fuel FillerGuard™, At times travelling around the world in our LandRover Defender 110, making sure we got diesel instead of gasoline was always a highlight of the day, with. So many names we would use a plastic cover printed with a collection of names from English to Portuguese to Arabic to Afrikaans worked a treat with many thumbs up from the attendants. Problem with the plastic cover was it was always easy to. Forget and the number of times we’ve turned around to find it sat on top of the pump, well so say it was a lot would be an understatement. One benefit of the cover though became evident on our Cape Town to London trip, the almost inevitable diesel spill around the filler didn’t become caked in dust leaving the cap free of debris and potential for contaminants getting in to the fuel reduced as well as keeping your hands cleaner. Traveling through Ethiopia along mud roads the cover also kept the mud out of the filler pocket. Getting back to the UK is always a time to reflect on what worked on the truck and what didn’t. The cover actually did work well apart from it wasn’t secured and offer no additional security as it was only a push fit, so the Defender Fuel FillerGuardTM was born one evening over a few pints of Yorkshires best. FillerGuardTM requires no drilling no alteration to your truck and can be fitted in minutes. Made in the UK from 6082 aircraft grade Aluminium on a satte of the art 5 axis machining centre ensuring consistent accuracy then hard anodised in black or as a ready to paint version (Certec 650v).

I don't like to be too harsh but I agree with other comments, the price is prohibitive and the web blurb is well, interesting Thumbs Up

On the up side, nice looking product and perhaps production volumes may bring the price down. Sweatysock

The text seems like an identical story to what the Defendoor designers had.....

Don't get me wrong, but gone are the days of fuel theft by syphon.
if a tea leaf wants my fuel, they won't be bothered by a locking fuel cap or a door. they'll just stab the tank and flush it into a bucket.
I actually like the uproar stuff normally too and defender upgrades who are quite a decent ooutfit too is way too overpriced for a cat flap.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why not just have a locking fuel cap, which can be picked up with some change from a tenner?

Looking at the photos when the “door” is open it appears to sit against the wheel arch.....at that price I would expect it to hover just above the wheel arch and close in total silence upon verbal command Rolling with laughter 2015 HT XS 90
