Finland ! I'm well jealous
If I remember rightly, 229, you said your other half had excellent musical tastes (ie metal !). Therefore no trip to Finland would be complete without seeing Ensiferum, COB, Turisas, or Finntroll ! Great to see your 110 has only minor problems after all that heavy towing. It seems to work harder than most on Def2 |

Yeah she does - she says Finntroll is good? She made me listen to Bathory and things... Yeah the 110 has been pretty trouble-free, only minor things really. I even discovered that my EGR valve is in fact fine as I was panicking it wasn't working...well it is. Just a shame about the rusty wheel studs and drive flanges - are they covered on warranty does anyone know? |

you will remember my Defender 110 USW modelled on yours -
![]() Click image to enlarge well in 9500 miles since last Oct, we have had 4 separate trips to dealer - 2 of these on the back of AA trucks loss of power 3 times - with EGR and ECU replaced and so far cured DEFENDER sticker on rear body replaced twice. Driver door handle detached and replaced turbo heat shield bolts came loose Car has been faultless outside of the above faults and returns about 23 to the gallon here in Wales - with the occasional trip to england - usually towing. We have blinged it up with big tyres, big snorkel and light guards and rear bumperettes I think you need to pick the dealer to get the rustly components covered on warrenty - some may and others will not see the importance of these faults Regards Chris Bowler Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

I remember that one. Sounds like mine has been a touch more reliable? Never broken down so far...

Pic below as requested ![]() Click image to enlarge Light guards are military WOLF spec ones that are removable for headlight cleaningbut do require drilling - got them on EBAY Bumper is also mil spec WOLF really strong and reinforced for centre hitch - got it through BEARMACH Front grill is mil spec WMIK HD grill - EBAY. I think all these are really practical additions and as i do not like the plastic grills and covers cos they go grey and sun faded, I think they give the defender a better more purposeful look. Sadly my 110 won't be going anywhere for at least a month as I only just survived severe appendicitis and can't drive for at least a month. I'm worried about it seizing up. My mrs doesn't drive, so will it be okay parked up that long?

Crikey mate, get well soon! I left my Defender in the garage for the whole of December. Only one problem - the battery went flat because I had (stupidly ![]() May be worth leaving a trickle-charger plugged-in. Unlikely to cause any problems other than the battery losing charge. I know none of my lights or anything are on, but thats reassuring anyway - I was worrying about the brakes jamming on. I will see if I can get a mate to come drive it around the block or something for me. Right now I doubt I could even climb into a Landrover, nevermind drive one.

I have been back at work now for about six weeks now. Anyway, I have at least been able to take the 110 out to get it muddy.

^^^^One of my favourite Defenders on here, steel wheels, a classic colour scheme and not dripping with trinkets and toys

It never will be either. In years to come it *may* get a snorkel, and another high-likelihood item would be a rooftent, but beyond that I can't see myself doing much. CB will probably go in at some point. I have thought about a winch but when am I going to need one? I plan to use the vehicle for "touring" in Europe, not hacking through virgin jungle... Thanks for the compliment, glad you like it. ![]() |

AGGGHHHHH!!!!
Forgetting the ongoing rust issues, some kind person flicked a stone up and has cracked my windscreen! I have autoglass coming out next week to have a look at it, but they think it may need a new screen. I hope my insurers are as good as the claim to be if so... |
