Broken down in France again and now UK.....VERY not happy...
Hi all, I really do not believe this, truck broke down in France last August after ferry trip over here, it has been fine since then back in Enlgland, no issues at all, was on the ferry yesterday, drove to the house we are staying at fine, went to start it this morning, and 4 turns then nothing, no fire. See last years post by me around August time, the symptoms are exactly the same. I have no internet access apart from this phone. What the hell is it? Last time it started the next day after it was towed to the B and B the night before. Any help much appreciated. Should the crank sensor drop to zero on ignition 2 position? Have reprogrammed key fobs, really Censored off I have to say. 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW

Thanks for the replies, wiggled relays under right seat and in fuse box under steering column, still the same, I believe the Immobilier is coming off, the red light extinguished on the dash, still just 4 turns and no fire, then cut out. 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW

Sounds like immobiliser problem - I got recovered a couple of times in my D2 with those symptoms and it started first time when unloaded from the truck Confused

The same D2 also loved France and never wanted to leave - broke down every year for three years; sold it for the Puma in the end. 2012 110 XS SW Orkney Grey

Can anyone post detailed instructions on how I get to this instrument cluster plug, I am heavily suspecting that, I have no tools, only a leatherman, but I will see if I can buy some tomorrow.. like I say I can’t tether this iPhone connection to my Mac or iPad, iPhone googling and searching is really tricky on a small screen, might se if I can walk to a bar later and get WiFi. 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW

Well guess what, Martins detailed instructions were fantastic and by fate I had a torx set in the cubby box I did not know were there lol......did what Martin recommended, and it started first time, that was a temporary fix with no instrument cluster installed, so I need to find some wire cutters and a small choc a block from somewhere tomorrow.

I am assuming the ferry ramps or cobbled streets in the place we are staying have caused this fault to resurface again, odd it only happens in France lol

Martin is a hero and I owe him beers 🍺

Thanks to all who replied.

Without going into too much detail, I'm guessing this is now a confirmed immobilizer problem which you've just bypassed behind the cluster?

I like to know these things just in case I find myself or another in a similar circumstance.

From what Martin has explained to me, it is not bypassing the immobiliser , but bypassing the Immobilier ‘diversion’ through the cluster. 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW

Indeed Smile

It does NOT bypass the immobiliser, it just removes the instrument pack from the circuit. The 2.2 are wired like this (no instrument pack in the circuit).  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
