Rear (felt) window seal problem - window wont close!
Made the mistake of leaving 12 year old sprog in alone in car for 2 mins, cam back to find had had pulled the back window bas as far as it would go, then he tried to close it and somehow has managed to squish up the felt that lines the window channel up into one end - needless to say window now wont close.

Have tried putting it back but as soon as I push forward the window it does the same again. Leaving it pit makes the window rattle like mad -as a temporary solution i have cut felt in half and just lined the end section - now closes and 'most' of the rattelmh has stopped but clearly its less than ideal. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement felt seal and more importantly, how does it fit - any advice most welcome.

I couldn't get mine back in, so I cut it off and just pushed the window closed so it doesn't show. I know it's not a proper solution but there you are.

It would seem you cannot replace felt seal on it's own. See here:

the fact that my stealership managed to do it in less than a week and on the first try tells me that, not only can it be done but that its a job a five year old loaded up on sugar and wearing mitterns could do it.

seriously its the only job they got right first time. Evil or Very Mad

The felt seals in all the windows can be replaced - i only know that as i have built up several defenders and refitted them to the doors and the sliding windows.

I know my dealer told me they couldnt replace it - but they could and did, when i reminded them of the heritage (for me it was to fix a rear window rattle)

Just to add - they were screwed in...then i think they were glued in on the latter versions. Mike

Apologies for the late response, but I've only just joined the forum...
I replaced my seals with window channel strip from Woolies Trim. The old stuff was always soggy, green with algae and generally tatty. It was a simple job to pull it all out having lifted the window out. Doing this job brought home the fact that these windows are about as secure as an Icelandic bank. I'll be doing something about that before I go anywhere near "civilisation".

Buy the replacement trim from Woolies Trim. Easy job to replace the felt. THERE IS NO NEED TO REMOVE OR REPLACE THE WINDOWS!
