Metal Expoxy Putty - Any tips
Hi,
Looking to apply metal epoxy to my door bolts... instructions seem fairly straight forward!

It appears a few of you have done this and I was wondering if there are any tips you can share before I start? I guess one might be only mixing a small amount each time.

Thanks in advance

I mixed it in one go. It doesn't take long to do them all Thumbs Up

Hi,
I used a small amount of chemical metal placed in the torx hole with a small screwdriver and put a 5mm ball bearing in each one, then wiped away any excess. Thumbs Up

So what's the plan if the door needs removing?

Glad my doors aren't desirable

In the highly unlikely event that a door needs removing you can dig it out with a scriber but it will take time!
The whole point is it sends a visible message to any would be theif who is after your doors or the complete vehicle that you have thought about security.

Yep that’s the plan... never had to remove doors of any car, so hopefully nothing changes.

Doors may not need removal but the mirror is held on with the door hinge

The LR hinges need replacing on a fairly regular basis too.

Off Topic
The hinges from the factory have a pretty poor finish I notice or is it just me?
I assume it's due to manufacturing purposes but all the same I've never had a problem with mine. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

The standard hinges are pretty rough castings.
