What a difference there and have you fitted spacers or the ET is pushing them out more so you have to fit wider arches Question

Its been almost a year since I updated this thread! Embarassed Quite a bit has happened since, I'll do my best to get the time line right...
Bought another Defender 300tdi 110 last year. Twisted Evil ex RAF, completely unmolested, perfect chassis, awful bulkhead. I bought it for the misses who now hates it and wants rid but I'm determined to hold on to it...

On to Red, I posted about some gearbox woes I had (understatement)...

I'm very lucky that I pretty much have a full spare truck to steal off ("Black") so with some time off work I attempted the job on my own. Biggest job attempted yet! I thought it'd make sense, while the box was out, to replace the rear crank seal and fit a new clutch. I ordered some bits from LOF Clutches in prep...

The next job was to get the replacement box off old "Blacks" block...

With the box Xmember off there was the obligatory rust...

There's no pic of the repair but it was welded up, treated and coated in copper slip before the Xmember went back on.

Anyhow, the replacement box was put on a stand and given a clean and fitted with the HD Clutch fork from LOF...

Old clutch had to come off, flywheel removed, cleaned, new crank seal on and new clutch fitted...

Then time to fit the replacement box. Did it on my own so this is the only pic.

I forgot to take any more pics of the box cause once it finally slotted home I was too busy celebrating! Whistle

The hardest part in all this was replacing the brass spigot. I tried everything but in the end it was a cold chisel and hammer Embarassed

I thought I'd taken loads more pics but its now welded and I've got new floor panels in from YRM sealed and screwed.

With the time I've had I also managed to put in the dual battery setup...

I worried needlessly about fitting this, it was a doddle in the end.

Feeling confident with the progress I'd made, my attention turned to the Allisport goodies I'd stockpiled! Twisted Evil

Then just started chucking everything in, I had no instructions from Allisport so had to wing it, new silicone hoses on too...

I thought I'd do up an old winch guard I had so wire wheeled it, rustproofed, primed and painted it. I love the look of the front end now with the A-bar too...
