Bubbles in the expansion tank might be a head gasket gone - get a 'sniff test' done at a local garage to check for combustion gasses in the coolant
Matrix is a dash out job I believe Keith |

I have checked obvious signs for head gasket such as no white smoke from exhaust, oil cap has no creamy white -looks normal. Oil looks very dark and normal.
I will get it tested at garage Any other suggestions apart from head gasket? Regards to possible water leak thank you for the link to information kind regards |

If you have antifreeze in your cooling system then a quick taste of the water on your mat should identify water coming from the cooling system. Just a quick lick of a dipped finger, as antifreeze is supposed to be harmful, but probably only if you drink it by the pint!
