I've seen quite a few Grenadiers and I must say they do look 'right'.

That's a good looking wagon and I'm sure it will do a good job. I expect we'll see some with the Highways Agency at some stage. Thumbs Up Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

I work there. I don’t think you’ll see Grenadiers being used until there is hybrid or EV version at the very least. The company has a big commitment to carbon reduction. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Had a quick drive of a Ineos at the weekend. While at Ty Croes circuit I spotted one and asked the chap if I could have a quick look - he offered me a quick drive around the paddock.
He did mention the steering was a bit odd in as much as the lack of self centreing and was right, certainly felt like a lack of.

He just said it was OK.

I thought the drive felt OK, smooth, quiet and auto box doing its thing.
Odd having the speedo display to the left of the steering wheel. 1999 Defender TD5 110

A nice throwback to pre-Series III Land-Rovers. For some reason it doesn't seem odd in those, but does in a modern vehicle.

Like the old Mini's as well. Its what we get used to. I am sure i would soon adjust to the speedo in the middle (if I ever get the £££ to buy one) 1999 Defender TD5 110

It is like owning a series 111. When it rains I expect to see water on the floor mats when I open the door. In the winter time when temperatures drop,as it does not have a headlining any dampness on the inside of the roof freezes and gradually thaws out as you drive. I spent 5 minutes this morning building my own spec on the website- it came in at £80k. A quick search of flea bay showed the same spec with less than 1500 miles for £59k. That’s quite a a cost per mile…

I had my deposit on a Grenadier. I REALLY WANTED to like it.
Sadly it missed the mark a bit too much for me, and I got my deposit back (and still have my 110)

I love the design, the look, the image, the heritage, but I detested the BMW engine and gearbox. Had it been fitted with a more "commercial" engine/drivetrain, I would have one in the garage today Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

I know nothing about BMWs, but understood the diesels were very good, hence the popularity of the M57 conversion.

Interested to hear what you dislike about them? James

Like you James, I know very little about BMW engines, but I remember reading that they no longer supply vehicles to the British Police and that was due to some catastrophic issues with their diesel engines.
Also interested to know what would be considered the choice of a more commercial engine for the Grenadier?

I’ve only seen a couple on the road and one in a car park (and that was the dealers own vehicle). I like the look of the vehicle, but it’s too expensive for me.

Bizarrely our local dealer is the same family company who have the majority of the Ford franchises around Norwich and North Norfolk. They also have the franchise for Peugeot in Norwich. Seemed a strange choice for them? They haven’t got the greatest reputation for service around here. Even Norfolk Police use another smaller Ford franchise to service and repair their Ford vehicles.

Not sure how you can't have liked the engine. And as far as the gearbox goes, its an automatic. Perfectly fine for an auto, but you are unlikely to find many manuals these days. Not unless you import from the USA or something.

Are you sure that price of £59k wasn't plus VAT?
