Lightning - my mate cancelled his (because of the tax situation / payload)
I may be cancelling mine. Altho Ineos - to their credit - have been honouring prices at the time of order, so I will be getting mine £9k cheaper than current price. I may offer it for sale before cancelling the order, on the basis the new owner save money, and I also make a small profit - maybe share the saving with the new owner (you save £4.5k and I earn £4.5k  ) Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

The road tax here will be €2,400 yearly unless you can tax it commercially. If I bought the commercial variant that is what I would pay.
The two seat would start at €71,995 or £62,606. We would need the middle row for our daughter so the price goes up. The five seat starts at €99,995 or £86,935. I am sure that the Ineos Grenadier is capable of carrying more but that puts it outside the current driving licence limits. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

DVLA see the Grenadier as "Commercial" so l think you pay Commercial Vehicle road tax which is £330 and no initial higher rate when new. ln the U.K. at least. Last edited by lightning on 14th Jul 2023 6:20pm. Edited 1 time in total |

That's what I was told too, for the commercial version (same 5-seat version as my 110 USW, and same road tax I was told - in UK) Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

The Hilux / Navarra can do it. I do not intend to be rude. A very fantastic project. But is this a joke? Quartermaster: price: 85 to 90 k€ payload: 0.76 t (without any accessories) fuel consumption: 12.2 l/100 km (WLTP) / about 23 MPG UK Range: 730 km (WLTP) / Reality 540 km Hilux: price: 35 to 45 k€ payload: 1.05 t (without any accessories) fuel consumption: 7,3 l/100 km (WLTP) / about 38 MPG UK Range: 1095 km (WLTP) / Reality 900 km So all mouth and no trousers? Sorry, it seems rather silly to me. |

The Toyota website gives 29.7 - 30.7 mpg for the HiLux double cab. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

That's about what l am getting from my Defender D250 Commercial.
On a motorway journey l can get 40mpg at around 70mph In city driving it's 30mpg Stop/start and short journeys between customers is 26mpg |

How does it compare to a 79 series Land Cruiser on the Aussie market? Is that what they’re targeting with this?

Same with the 79 series. Way more payload, proven reliability, a flipping great diesel V8, fantastic styling, same fuel consumption and aehm what did i forget .... yeah half the price!
It seems the focused on solid axles and a ladder frame. The rest might important but not really. |

lt does, but HMRC don't class it as a Commercial Vehicle so you can't put it through a company. All you can do is charge mileage at 45p per mile.
And the start price for the cheapest version (the two seat Commercial) is now £65,000. Add a few essentials such as a towbar and you quickly end up at £70,000. Makes a Defender Commercial seem cheap !! And you can get the tax/VAT back through your LTD company. BIK on the Defender is Commercial rates so £700 per year. l still love the Grenadier and would consider one over my Defender, but the figures just don't add up. |

79 Series isn't available in the EU is it? Certainly not in the UK. Don't know how the price compares, but I doubt half the price. Quick Google says AUS$80,000 starting price and I don't think that is for the nice trim. Sure I watched a YouTube review of one costing over $100,000 AUS. The 79 Series is also way more basic, much lower spec, less refined, less powerful and slower. |
