If you have to worry about fuel economy in one of these then its not the car for you.

In 12200 miles, my D250 110 has averaged 27mpg on AT tyres. Over 231,000 miles my 2005 D3 manual on AT tyres averaged 26 mpg.

Its what I'd expect, the Grenadier the same - all are heavy buses, with lots of mechanical friction and the aerodynamics of a brick. Thumbs Up Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

I guess the weight, aerodynamics, drivetrain losses and tyres must be huge tbh. Its hard to justify how my fairly old RRS can acheive 35mpg on a run with a 50% bigger capacity engine of an older design than the ineos. Looking at the stats, the grenadier is 500kg heavier, same wheelbase, same L/W footprint but the ineos is signifncantlyl taller.

I did have a deposit on a grenadier but cancelled it when they started putting the delivery dates back. maybe grenadier v2.0 down the line.

Its possible given the reviews coming through its not really a 'lifestyle' family vehicle I thought it was going to be as per that video below. What I really wanted was a 'new' Discovery 4 and its more a work truck I guess, and perhaps a compromise too far for my uses. Still think they look great though.

Not sure it’s a work bus either as I don’t think its VAT qualifying?

No reason a Tdi RRC or Disco couldn't do 23-34mpg depending on use. But you only got 1111bhp.

I think over a thousand bhp from a TDI especially at those mpg figures, would be very impressive! Very Happy

On the subject of fuel, I realised the over day that I have now put over 10,000 gallons of diesel into my Puma's tank. Shocked Each injector has discharged more than 2,500 gallons through those little tiny orifices.

Roughly speaking it will be around 10,000 multiplied by £6, which is probably a realistic average price per gallon over the period.

In other words somewhere around three times the purchase price of the Defender or about 80% of the cost of a new Grenadier.

And it's been worth every penny! Thumbs Up

I hope that it gets used as doesn’t end up and a photographic virtual signalling vehicle that the Born Free Puma 110 was alleged to be.

Because they couldn’t be fixed in the field I understand that they were hardly used but looked the

Got an email from Ineos about some new Grenadier merchandise. One of them is a white tee shirt so they must not be expecting owners to be tinkering with the vehicle Wink

Those with a better knowledge will be able to tell me the answer. It can take a euro pallet, but doesn’t have enough payload to be VAT and LGV compliant? 1951 80" S1 2.0
