I spoke to Rustmaster earlier this week - they still offer 12% discount to forum members

![]() Might make the brakes a bit questionable though ![]() Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I know there are some horror stories out there but we need to remember that for every bad one there's loads of good ones that never get told. Most people use forums to highlight problems more than great service. Not so much so on here but some forums are just full of whinging!
We also need to remember that not everyone has the time, ability or confidence to do something like this themselves. So for them rustproofers are ideal...far better than seeing your chassis rot away under you anyway! I put myself in the 'haven't got the patience' bracket and have always had my Defenders done my a rustproofer and will be getting my new one done to. Rustmaster did my last one and they are happy with you kitting up and watching them do it if you wish....I was very pleased with their service and won't hesitate taking this one back. The last time there was some overspray on the sidesteps but a wipe over with the right cleaning product and it was gone - one swipe (no chemicals involved for those who don't like using chemicals). No problem. Anyway, just my twopenneth. Soap. Box. Removed. She's not old...just older |

I used Rustmaster earlier this year on my 110 CSW.
I experienced none of the problems of overspray quoted elsewhere (if you exclude runs on the outside of the rear cross member). Michael made point of wiping down a few parts of the bodywork which did have overspray e.g.because the gap between the rocksliders and door bottoms. I watched the process throughout and was impressed to the meticulousness of approach and attention to detail. Six months on and I haven't found any patches which were missed, but like all other owners who have a wax based undercoat, I curse the stuff when I am working underneath the Land Rover, in particular when undoing a nut. ![]() Tazz |
