Looks fantastic George! You must be pleased that all the hard work has paid off and you get to stand back and admire your efforts. Brilliant job.

Probably helps being able to rumble around the countryside listening to that V8 too (despite the fuel economy!). 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Thank you Green Machine Bow down

I must say, it does feel great to think that I've rescued it from a rusty demise and now it's looking and going as well as it did before it was decommissioned.

Interestingly, my dad had lost interest in it before it was layed up. Now its looking good and driving well, his interest has been piqued - which is great to see as he's normally not particularly interested in 4 wheels (being more of a 2 wheel enthusiast).

The sound with the new exhaust system is absolutely fantastic - which is even worse for fuel consumption Rolling with laughter

Unfortunately it's one of those things that doesn't come across well on video. It's definitely a windows down at every opportunity kinda vehicle now! 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Does V8 rubble when its warming up, as you go down the box? My rover metro gta 16v 1.8 vvc used to do this with the Standard GTI exhaust. When it was still warming up, a few people were like Surprised Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

It was on an itg filter, but now it's on a K&N ad the filter material on the ITG started to degrade, didn't want that being sucked into the engine Shocked 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Well, I've got a new pair of tips to polish!

Decided on plain 3 inch tube out of the silencers for a slightly more understated look. Obviously they will need polishing, but look OK for now Cool

Also, I forgot to mention, the first tank of fuel with the new exhaust system came in at a frankly astonishing 14.7 MPG Shocked

Previously I have been averaging around 12 - maybe with some intake mods and eventually a different ECU/Injectors/EDIS then I might even see dreamland figures in the high teens Laughing 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Taken the Range Rover for a spin today, all ok apart from a misfire at 4500 ish rpm. I'm guessing it's coil or dizzy related as it happens on petrol or LPG.

Magnecor leads (2 years old)
Dizzy cap and rotor arm replaced with genuine Lucas at the same time

NGK spark plugs all correctly gapped and also replaced at the same time.

So basically the whole ignition system is less than 3000 miles and 2 years old apart from the distributor (which is original) and the coil (probably not original but certainly not new)

My gut feeling is coil, so I'm going to replace that with a Bosch one and go from there Thumbs Up

Pic from today's outing

Yeah that will be the coil, see what the best injection system is, and also look at after market ECU stuff, even look at head work and a cam, but see if you gain anything mind. If its anything like the K series engine, you spend megger money and you gain say 5 hp, then forget it Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
