Puma heater blower, 12v and radio not working
Evening guys. Got in the defender this evening to find that all the above had stopped working. All fuses underneath the steering wheel are fine. Is there a master fuse for accessories I don't no about or a relay perhaps? Any help great fun to make poking around in this weather bareable!! 08 90 puma

Thanks,
The common wiring being from Link 5 of the battery junction box all the way through to the central junction box. Out of curiosity and only if you have it to hand, any idea what else comes through link 5?

Engine fired fine and everything else seemed to be fine. I'll check for voltage at the fuse and work back from there

Thanks for your help!

When you turn the key, do they turn on in some positions? Sounds like you need a new ignition switch. I've experienced this a few times and the ignition switch was always the culprit. I hope this helps.

Having looked at replacing the ignition switch, I'm curious whether it's possible to replace the switch with the barrel still in situ? Most forum posts I've seen have removed the entire barrel (and therefore shear bolts) first then swapped the switch over. I didn't no if it's possible to just remove the switch.

Haha, ok I've purchased the switch and replacement shear bolts. I'll attempt it in place but remove if needed...

Cheers Martin,

Did you have a preferred method for removing the shear bolts?

Has anyone done this on a puma specifically? The workshop manual says nothing about removing the barrel and mentions removing a 'single screw from the ignition switch' as opposed to the 2 dorsetsmith mentioned.

Parts catalogue is showing LR039638 for the switch, which may be puma specific with just one screw? Perhaps they became aware how likely they were to fail/burn out so made it easier to replace Laughing
