Today's modification is rubber spring isolators. It's a job I've been meaning to do for ages but never got round to it.

I bought the Disco 2 rubberised turret rings and the standard rubber rings for the rear. Fitted up with copious amounts of grease it took about 2 hours all in (including tea).

I've been out for a quick spin and it seems to have made a tangible difference to the ride quality and has reduced some road noise I think (tyre noise is unchanged).

I'm tempted to put isolators on the bottoms of the springs too but I'm not sure if that would be overkill/deminishing returns?

I'll definitely be doing it on the Range Rover as well but not until it's in the workshop for the respray.

Anyway it's done and I think has made a difference. I'd recommend it especially if you were in the spring/damper area doing something else Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

It's a great mod but I can't see the value in adding the isolators at the bottom, too. It can't be any more isolated. Darren

I suppose not, would it not help smooth out the ride just that little bit more? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I noticed in the last pic you posted you've installed grab handles on the A pillars Grafty

This is something I've always wanted to do to mine but always thought there wasn't enough space to house them, are they LR ones and if so do you know the part number?

Really love all your subtle touches Cool

Well spotted!

I've just fitted the one to the passenger side, but you could just as easily fit one to each side.

It's the same standard plastic pull handle as on the door cards. The hole spacing is an exact match for the a pillar fixings, which is nice!

I took a file to the back of the handles to profile the base of the handle to the same profile as the a pillar trim.

As it matches the door handles it looks factory from the inside Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I've done the same, and the handles are so useful that you wonder how you managed without them.

They're a real neat touch!

So they just need filing down to fit flush?
