spigot rings
Anyone knows where I could find spigot rings, so pre 2007 wheels can fit a post 2007 defender.

it's 114.6mm to 124mm

thx 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

Are you sure your right? All wheels after 1990 should have the same bore size, I don't think they've changed at all?

I've got 1997 wheels on my 2015 Defender and they fit straight on. No spigot rings or adapters, nothing.

The diameter of the drive flange (which is the equivalent of where a spigot ring goes on a normal hub) is exactly the same, no change.

There's no mention on here of spigot rings - only spigot bearings for the clutch - and the only Google result for "Defender spigot 114.6mm" is this thread!!

I think you have some misinformation.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Indeed, older wheels will fit newer defenders, but not the way around.
But did you measure your 2015 wheel hub?

An older wheel would indeed fit but it would be loose on the drive flange, and I would not fit loose wheels!

That site is wholly and completely wrong, there is no difference.

If you want proof...

Drive member 1993 to 2007: FTC859 replaced by RUC105200
Drive member 2007 to 2016: RUC105200

That is impossible if the drive flange diameter changed.

They have also not made two different types of the Wolf/HD wheels which change at 2007. They are all ANR4583PM (tubeless, primed for paint)

The before 2007 Boost alloy is RRC110870MNH replaced by RRC502000MNH replaced by RRC503400MNH replaced by LR023391
The after 2007 Boost alloy is RRC503400MNH replaced by LR023391

So all Boost alloys are now LR023391

This is also impossible if there is a change at 2007 Wink  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I'll send you a photo while measuring the axle.
I wanted to fit ZU wheels first, it was while searching for reviews and possible balance issues I came upon a post of a the diameter change.

Not OZ, but ZU 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

well, I hope I'm wrong, cause in that case they will have to take back the wheels... 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

I have fitted a Series 1 wheel to an '07 Defender while swapping wheels round and it is a perfect fit. There is no difference in centre size.

no I didn't.
It's a 2015 defender.
This bothers me...
I'll be heading home to measure and to be sure. 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

Errrmmmm As said only two sizes, Early and Late!! Unless you have HD Drive flanges fitted which sometimes need the edges radiused to prevent them fouling.

As we say in Flemish: Meten is weten:

Original wheel fitted when purchased i nJune 2015 -> 114.6 will be correct

The new wheels

So the new wheels have a center bore of 124, my originals 114.6
As said, there is a difference after 2007.

numbers on the original wheels:
6H12-1007 - 80 5½Jx16 x33 Tubeless MWro 13 15 696

So these will NOT fit a pre 2007 defender 28/02 - Loss of a good friend...

But they are steel wheels they don't center on the spigot anyway they center on the wheel nuts so why does it matter?

Also your new wheels look like aftermarket 8 spokes so they will be different. They go over the drive flange and can be bolted up so what is the issue?

My aftermarket modulars are not tight on the center ether and that is on a truck a long time prior to 2007 and I have fitted post 2007 hd wolf wheels onto it as well with no issue.

Or have i got the wrong end of the stick? Dog Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
