Is there only one EGR valve gasket?
Just taken my EGR valve off (what a job that was! 2 hours to do 4 bolts!) and as I pulled it out various things clattered on to the floor but I've only found a gasket for the inlet side. When I say inlet, I mean the side that faces the bulkhead with the larger bolts.

Is that correct or has the other gasket vanished somewhere in to my engine bay?

The lower bolt was a complete PITA because there's a hose clip in the way that makes lining a socket up incredibly difficult. I know it specifies a torque value but I'd never get a torque wrench in there Confused

Answer:
There are two gaskets, one for either side. I've found it Smile

Now to stick it all back in again!

Putting it all back together again was much easier! The gaskets were a bit of a faff but valve in, bolts, electrics, bonnet, tidy up took less than an hour. Much better.

And away she went and the workshop disappeared in a white cloud Rolling with laughter pretty sure that's not supposed to happen! We'll see what happens now. There was a load of black stuff in it but I've given it as best a clean as I could.

I have to say it's much easier if you take the bonnet off. No way I could get at anything from underneath. It would be a whole lot easier if there wasn't a hose clip in the way of the bottom bolt! And for something that's so often replaced why they couldn't have put it somewhere a bit more accessible I don't know.

Mines tuned with EGR closed so I don't have to worry about the things which is a godsend.

They have got expensive too.

Thumbs Up

Bust off the hose clip n replace with a jubilee clip, it makes the job a lot easier as you can access the bolt from below. Also next time the jubilee clip is easy to remove to get it out the way
