oil pressure warning light flickering
Hi I'm looking for some advice, my oil pressure warning light is flickering on and off incessantly. I've checked and topped up the oil but it's still the same.
I'm thinking it could be an electrical fault as the rear foglamp warning light was showing a dull glow last week, but I've no idea where to look.
Any help advice would be welcome, as the flickering is driving me to distraction
Thanks DRW I built a garage for my Mini
With a place for everything and everthing in its place.
Ten years down the line there's a Mini in there somewhere, and Censored all's where it should be!!!! Ho hum

I would first try replacing the oil pressure switch,
And go from there Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

could pull the wire off the switch

if it stops flickering then its the switch
if it keeps flickering then its the wiring

when does it flicker on tick over or all the time ?

Hi munch, it flickers on and off at all engine speeds it's bloody annoying. I had a look at the earth connections but couldn't see anything wrong.
I'm going to have to put a piece of black tape over the light to retain my sanity it won't solve the problem, but will help me till I can do something constructive about it. I built a garage for my Mini

So it must be a switch or wiring fault , not oil pressure problem

Is it worth the risk? Get the oil pressure tested, the go from there. It wasn't me!
