New Mach 5 Wheels!
Here is a picture of the new style Mach 5 wheels. Outstanding or what?

I tried to order a set of Mach 5s yesterday from Devon 4X4. They informed me 'that every other phone call is enquiries about Mach 5.'

The individual who is producing them states on their own website:-

"So, for 2009 we have a new specification. As you can see from the photos in the gallery, the centre is a new shape and the spokes are flared to increase its strength.

At the moment they will fit Land Rover, Range Rover and new Discovery but hope to add other vehicle fitments soon!

Sizes available are 7x16 and 8x16 with various offsets to suit.

We are still sourcing some raw material but hope to be in full production very soon - watch this space!!"

I have been watching the space for some time, I spoke to him a couple of months ago and e-mailed him tonight. Devon 4X4 will be the sole distributor and they themselves are crying out for them! It is a crying shame that I may have to settle for a set of ZUs (no offence to those that have ZUs - personal choice of course) due to the continuing non-availability of Mach 5s.

Maybe the 2009 in the narrative should be changed to 'perhaps this year.' Big Cry

Will of course keep you posted on any information received resulting from my e-mail. Maybe another site member may be privvy to some more detailed information. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Tried the Dyna Beads but to be fair they did not stand a chance Whistle the wheels were about 5mm out of round and 5mm out of square Shocked as witnessed by AndrewS

I can confirm this.
We ran Sonics truck up on my wheel free hoist, every one was out, buckled, egg shaped all over the place. Thinking about it Sonic I expect the tyres were balanced, it was the wheels causing the wibble wobble, I had to wear a sports bra when I drove his truck Rolling Eyes

Having said that the 18" Mach5's I got specially made are perfec even though they have been to Morocco twice.

Perhaps yours were a Friday build Thumbs Up

Link Removed!
As a footnote to my original post Devon 4X4 have also now removed the link to Mach 5 wheels so I can't even look at what isn't available anymore! Hopefully my pain and anguish will subside. (Nice repair job Ken by the way!). ZUs look favourite at the moment!

Big Cry Big Cry

Anyone with Mach 5s don't bother posting pictures of them! If you do I hope your next poo's a cactus....sideways!

Only issue to consider is that the are steel and not alloy.

Personally I love my TX wheels, and they have the same weight rating as the Mach 5's.......so many Aussies can't be wrong.

Hip Hip Hip Hooray!
Milestone

Phoned Devon 4X4 somewhat downhearted and reluctant to enquire about ZU sizes as I really really wanted a set the same size as Fekete's! But I did really want Mach 5s. ZUs don't come in that size anyway! Does life get any worse?

Guess what? Bow down

Was informed by the kind gentleman on the phone they may be able to help me with Mach 5s after all. Bow down

Having updated their stock and website under 'Special Offers' yesterday I have just managed to bag a set of Mach 5s same size as Fekete's, powder coated black, one of them needs to get powder coated but have been assured it is done by the same company and will be a perfect match as the others.

Made my day! Post Mach 5 pictures at will, my poo and cactus reference from my last post is hereby formally withdrawn! K9 is happy! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Thanks Fekete,

How ironical I just sent you a pm asking advice on the same! Should I drop the profile down from your 12.50 to 11.50 or less to reduce the risk of fouling? Obviously with an XS I have 'heavy duty' suspension as standard but am unsure as I know you have a 1" lift on yours! Got a mate in the trade for tyres but want to get it right first time. Looked at Cooper and BFG but profile size will determine what make will be fitted.
On thinking further I shall speak to my mate in the trade as if I keep the 'rolling radius' with the 15" the same as it is now with the 16" boosts the speedo won't be thrown out either. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

K9 Have a play with this you can see the difference in the size of tyres you're putting on with different sizes and speedo differences
