Bigger tyres for the look?
Hey guys,

Just a quick question but I have been thinking of taking my Factory Goodyear MT tyres off my x tech and going for some 285s on my x tech rims, would this be ok or is the run too thin to really/safely take these? My current tyres have only done 12k and got loads of tred left but just not the look I want if you get what I mean, but if going bigger is not a good idea then won't do it Smile

Cheers

Stu

Hi have 265's on my saw tooth's think they are perfect size as just inside arches I think 285's would be on outer limits & you would get more crud up the side - will take a photo taler when light & post what a 265 looks like from the front & side if it helps unless you already have 265's Question 2020 P300 HSE

If it is just for looks then fit 265's and spacers Thumbs Up Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!

That says to me Steve that I should go max a 265 and no spacers?

Also if I was to to do this would you still be interested in my good years or what sort of price would you think I could get for them?, never been off road in them aswell?

Remember the Xtech offset is different to Boosts so 30mm spacers will look silly IMHO

Standard Sawtooths with 265's - Any wider & you are outside the arches & a very dirty defender - Mine is bad enough

How wide are the 'sawtooth' alloys? You shouldn't go over 265 width on the regular LR alloy wheels (7" wide) as it goes out of the tyre manufacturers specification..... But many have done it without any problems Thumbs Up

here's mine, these are 265/70's on Predator alloys and certainly look chunky and give it a purposeful stance.
