Just finished brushing and prepping the headlining backs in readiness for the new material arriving to recover them. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Over a couple of trips last night me and Mrs E moved nearly a tonne of MOT hardcore in the 110.
The landy felt quite stable and maybe smoother with the additional weight in the rear. Just needs another hoover now as a bag split!  1999 Defender TD5 110

 Click image to enlarge Have had the panel apart for long now, but suddenly it happens😀 Borrowed a crimp tool today and changed one of the red sumitomo hm090 joint to a new one. Took almost 2 hours in the dark to do it. The company who kitted my defender with extras like heated seats to the light cable. Not that smart. S Aftermath; should have done this 15 years ago when the light started flickering. Not to much work. Spent evenings last week fixing up a new falt dog rack to my canopy and finalising all the smaller parts for the cab. Durite lorry reversing camera instead of a rear view mirror and wiring in the last lights and amber beacons etc.

Fitted the Bison rear door strut.
Lack of instructions with the kit and took some time pondering the best way to fit it. The strut came with two brackets, some rivets and the strut. I used the original body side bolts to mount one bracket and then lined up and drilled/riveted the door side bracket. Pros Door is a lot easier to open with assistance from the ram and the door mounted spare wheel now stops short of the body Cons No instructions to give a rough idea of fitting Door card needs to be altered to fit around the door side bracket. The nuts for the lower door hinge just touch the body side bracket I do need to adjust the body side door catch as you need to give the door a hard shut to make the latch click into the position to be locked by a key, but I think the issue is I am now up against the door rubber part that sits on the lip around the door frame. I may look to cut a section of the door rubber away to give extra adjustment. mmm 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

How are your balls John?
And by that I mean the brass balls in the hinges. Replacing these does make a nice difference if they have worn flat. |
