United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Zermatt Silver
Itching to fit my Mantec RAI (purchased a few days earlier from a fellow forum member). It had rained every day since it had been delivered. As I don’t like leaving drilled holes unpainted and with the rain looking like it’s here for a good while yet, I had to resort to the trusty golf umbrella. I don’t play golf but this bit of kit came in handy keeping the rain off the wet paint. My B&D hot air gun speeded up the drying time.

Got some photos of that?

Looks an excellent effort Thumbs Up

Thank you for the compliment. I’m pleased with how it all turned out. This is the folder...

It’s not exactly a precision instrument, more of a home workshop type fabrication utilising angle iron but it did the job well without any drama. Coped fine with the sizes of 3mm plate I used for the brackets. I would have preferred a longer handle for more leverage but that said, I’ve been planning out an extended workbench project so none of my bench mounted equipment is bolted down at the moment - including the vice in which the folder is clamped. A length of tube over the handle would have helped but you know how it is - as soon as we have a garage clear out, we find a pressing need for something we’ve just thrown out! Rolling Eyes

Thanks ~ off to look at his products. Thumbs Up

Managed to get the bottom of my inoperative difflock. Caused all sorts of strife during a day's laning in Dartmoor a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't even persuade it in with a screwdriver from underneath. Most odd.

I suspected it was a bit seized from lack of use by the previous owner so set about taking off the carpets and gaiter to try and lube it up.

Turns out the problem was the rubber gearstick gaiter. The aperture for the HL lever was not wide enough to allow full sideways movement to engage the difflock. I changed it for the one from my TD5 which is stripped while it awaits decent weather for a paint job.

Side by side:

And the duffer from underneath:

Difflock works perfectly now Very Happy Thumbs Up

Today I pulled into the garage, unloaded my stuff, had some fun with the dog and then hopped right in, and very slowly backed into the park with the door still open. Embarassed Embarassed DOH

Luckily it appears to only have damaged the bottom corner of the door.

Hi do you know the biggest fuse you can use or total rating for that blue sea unit?It looks a neat option if your not planning on wiring the star ship enterprise.
