I drove the Nurburgring in my 90 Tdi and i bet my lap was slower than yours Embarassed I had M/T's, lifted suspension, and a roof rack full of camping gear. Definitely not not the ideal vehicle for all those unexpected bends Rolling with laughter

After driving to Hereford to pick up this beauty of a trailer I trucked on down to near Southampton to meet up with Trebo (well his wife) to pick up a rear drawer for the 110 and then back home. Total distance something in the region of 540 miles. all done without discomfort or missing a beat.

Nitram without going full technical

There is 5 or 6 (maybe more) different versions of the Penman trailer

The GS is like the traditional tub style made from Stainless steel and the most common available current ebay and disposal sites seen to advertise the regular GS version for about £850 to £1400 pounds. depending on condition etc . etc..

The FAR is an enclosed box body style which I've only seen a very few for sale, Nene overland have one for sale for £5995+vat and they didn't buy it for that much at last years LRO show.

There is two different generator sets that fit into the standard GS the twin 3.5Kva Onan and an Airlog 4.5 KVa single. again prices vary but I have seen then go for about £1000 - £2000 on disposal

There is an Ali chequer tub body style with no tailagate with a full tilt which I think someone on here owns a version and again similar prices to the GS

There is a simple skeleton style for IIRC project CAST that was designed to hold a large genset too. again a search on here will show a member owning one. with something like only 30 made will mean price will be a premium on the usual GS

Then what I found was a model again for a 15Kva generator yet has removable aluminium side panels all round, stanless steel floor and a full width folding rear tailgate. again prices in the GS region or even £2000+ if there is still the genset on top.

Prices will vary between buying at disposal I.E off the lot at brightwells and buying off ebay. and I'm sure there is some more versions yet to be released from the MOD.

There is a fair few about now and prices for what is a very solidly built trailer with land rover wheels, disk brakes with auto reverse, factory breakaway cable and a nice electrical system (peri lamps and Tyco connectors) what isn't to like? yes they are heavy but you won't break one or fall to bits in 10 years. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

Thanks Devon it does look like it should last you a lifetime and keep its value if maintained! Are you getting the paintbrush out? or keeping it original?

The new owner is already a Def2 member albeit very clandestine. He already has a UK 50th and he imported a white Japan 50th after me, both of which he is putting up for sale very soon. The Japan 50th will require similar work to what I did with mine but the UK car is a full runner. I can pass any details if anyone wants details.
