Hey Sulisuli, is it straight forward knowing how to locate the pins on the back of the boss? Also, did you have any issues re DSC when you fitted, or is that dealt with by ensuring the battery is disconnected before starting?

Many thanks for any advice Thumbs Up

The 2015 and 2016 model year Defenders (fitted with Dynamic Stability Control [DSC] use a different indicator cancelling arrangement using sockets in the wheel rather than prongs. This is for compatibility with the steering angle sensor fitted to these Defenders. Hope that helps Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90

A busy day ...

Optimill QR boss fitted with Startech steering wheel

Optimill swivel lock and docking station fitted at the back of the cubby box (nice and simple to change the steering wheel and lock when sitting in driving seat, and nicely out of the way in the rear seat leg space) ...

In a 24hr window Mrs Grenadier and I had our last ski of the season, with celebratory 8€ beer ( Shocked ), and our first spin on the bikes in build up for the Etape, just four months away. Great weekend. Thumbs Up Now it's raining. Big Cry

Final piste side beer. I like to break down the 8€ price to 1.50€ for the beer, 6.50€ for the view.

Yes, very clever. Does the steering wheel lock onto the cubby mount or just rest? Monsieur Le Grenadier

Thanks Grenadier. It locks insofar as the QR mechanism latches on to the docking station, but there isn’t a key lock so it is simply removed by releasing the QR. The important bit if someone were to break in would be that it can’t then be connected to the steering boss because the swivel lock would prevent that (albeit the wheel could still be stolen).

"What size wheels do you have? They look great with those tyres."

They're 8x16 +10 offset Mach 5 alloys - with the lock stops properly adjusted they give a much tighter turning circle allowing me to take Alpine hairpins in one go. Up grading to 265/75 16's would compromise the turning circle and loose tyre wall height which is part of the "look".

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I believe 235/85/16's have virtually the same tyre wall height as 265/75/16's:

235 x 85% = 199.75mm
265 x 75% = 198.75mm
