I've got the CheckTemp II - great bit of kit, and instructions here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5492.html

Heres a picture of my temperature sensor:

Seen as we all run about with our windows down and elbow out

If your arm goes a blue colour its cold.

If it turns red it's sunny.

If its wet its raining.

I've got a Check Temp too. It's got two temp sensors, one for outside, one for in. Fairly easy to fit but needed to experiment with where to put the sensors. I ended up with the inside one on the cubby box and the outside one on the headlight mounting panel - seems to work well. I don't understand why Land Rover don't fit a temp gauge as standard, the irritating thing is that I'm fairly sure the display is already there in the instrument binnacle if you could work out how to power it.

Got the check temp installed as well. The inside sensor behind the A pillar cover, slightly sticking out at the top. The outside sensor I put inside the tube of the raised air intake. After experimenting it seems to be a kind fo showing the true temperature, other places on the center console, the heater air intake, behind the bumper are pretty much influenced be the heating or aircon, engine and street heat.

My dealer fitted a VDO thermometer into the dash instead of the original clock, identical measurements. Costs were € 125,- for the item itself and appr. 100,- for fitting (again the limited knowledge when it comes to electronics....)
