Mapping Software on Ipad
I have an ipad. I also have 1:50k OS maps in an earlier version of Memory Map. If I buy the app, will I be able to load the maps from pc onto the ipad?

Does anyone else use MM on their iPad? And can someone give an old duffer some step by step guides cos I'm clueless.

Thanks

You will if the maps are compatible. If your maps don't work with the current version of MemoryMap on your PC they probably won't work on the iPad.

If they do work, you can copy them onto the iPad via the Applications tab in iTunes. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

Do you have wifi model ipad or one on a contract ?

If you only have wi-fi model you might want to get one of these http://bad-elf.com/products/be-gps-1000/ and email them to see if compatible with MM. 993 Varioram - Guards Red

If you have the 3G and travel predominantly in mobile signal areas, the free Outside app is superb....

It's only the wi-fi version. I can tether it to my mobile or, have pda with gps (which I'm currently running MM v4 on, hence having the maps).

trouble is, the old eyesight isn't what it used to be, so the bigger ipad screen would be ideal.

Chauch - I don't and it's precisely for non mobile sig areas that i need the better standard of mapping Very Happy

thanks for the answers so far. Thumbs Up

Looks like a handy solution if wifi only ipad/ipod is being used.

If your iPhone/ipad doesn't have the 30 pin connector an alternative is the Garmin Glo...
