Looks great, you were lucky with the tyres, you can't get them anymore.......confusing if they were such a good seller unless they are bringing in a new design Confused Cooper must be doing well out of the cock up Rolling Eyes

Unless my eyes deceive me those are BFG Mud T/A KM2s, which you definitely can still get!

Ah, now I understand. I know that Michelin make the BFGs in batches, and there are times when one batch is sold out (at least in a particular size) and there's a bit of a drought until the next (this is actually the reason I went from 245/75 to 265/75 on my Disco2).

For a ghastly moment I thought you meant they were discontinued. Shocked

Have been driving on the BFs for a week....a little off balance with lots of rumble to start off.....by the end of the week they have bedded in with less rumble. Went off road yesterday and they were terrific. That tf steering damper has definitely tightened things up. Overall, v happy Current...07 90 Puma commercial

I would go for the Muds since I have found them every bit as good on-road as the ATs, they are not noisy, and definitely better off-road.

You will have no problems running 265/75x16 tyres on Boosts without spacers, equally you will have no problems with spacers (if you went to 285/75s there would be an advantage).

All of which just goes to prove that if you ask for advice on a forum such as this you will always get conflicting opinions!

FWIW I have done over 300,000 miles on BFG Muds (original and KM2) and quite honestly wouldn't bother with anything else, they are the perfect all-rounder.

same here love them Bow down

Trac-Edge
BF Goodrich Trac-Edge what’s the equivalent BFG tyre now? How do the Trac-Edge perform? Has anybody used or remember these tyre’s? I only ask as I have a new set 235/85x16’s that I am considering fitting to new Defender.

There isn't an equivalent. Insa Traction Track is a straight rip-off of the pattern but is a remould tyre.

Trac-Edges were excellent in their day. I'm not sure if there's a directly comparable tyre anymore. I think the steady improvements in the AT and MT rendered them redundant as a type, as they were originally intended as something between the two.

AFAIK, Trac Edges haven't been made for a good few years now. I last bought them in 2003 and they were getting scarce then. If you've got an unused set from that long ago then I'd be quite wary about using them, to be honest. It does depend on how they've been stored, but tyres can deteriorate through age even if not used. Darren
