If you go for TF116/117 they are cheaper here (price excludes VAT) but they work out about £55 a pair.

Andrew, the owner, is very helpful, maybe drop him an email or call him and ask for his opinion.

for what you are using the truck for i wouldnt go all out.

std woodhead (i think they are) have obviously done a good job upto now so shouldn't be discarded.

Failing that on a budget TF work well in my opinion, i run 3 vehicles with them on the rear and no probs to date.

if you have more to spend OME would be the way fwd, i run these as fronts on two vehicles and they are very good. Cheers

So if you were going to upgrade the suspension would you have to do everything at the same time; springs, shocks and bushes or can you do them individually. Also if you did them individually where would you start?

No but it may be easier for some of the components Thumbs Up

Shocks can be done on their own by removing bottom bolt, top turret (or just top nut for the back) and then the turret + shock (front) can be removed via the wing inspection plate, rears are just taken off.

To change the front springs it is easiest to remove the shock as well so you may as well do both at the same time.
Rear springs can be done on their own.

Bushes - depends on which ones you are going to change. new shocks should have new bushes with them.

I am in the process of doing rear shocks and front shocks + turrets + springs.

Thanks Bob, that is really useful info as I have never done this before.

My quest is to improve the ride a little and was thinking of replacing the shocks first to see what difference that makes. Also I need to replace some of the bushes as they were an advisory on the last MOT. So I guess I can leave the springs till later when my bank balance has recovered!!

i would always start with bushes first if the ride was bad and the vehicle had a few miles on it.

with good bushes if its not as you wish then you can start to look at other components.

Superpro get my vote for bushes.

As Bob says front dampers and springs at the same time makes sense to reduce man hours. Cheers

What characteristics of standard Puma shocks might be improved with different ones - mainly thinking of road use? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
