I'll pop some photos up when I fit them, if they don't work well, I'll get them replaced. Thumbs Up

A good place to look for alternative bulbs is www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk

The bulbs is type 233 or equivalent

These are the rear number plate bulbs recommended for a Defender:

bp - The other thing that dawned on me this morning when I went out to the car was that assuming you can actually fit them (those are quite long and the enclosure is quite tight on space), the actual position of how the bulb sits, is governed by the two metal pins on the base.

To fit them, you basically put them in and give them a quarter turn, and that engages the two metal pins on the lamp base with a pair of detents in the bulb holder. This means that the lamp can only be fitted in two positions rotated 180 degrees apart, governed by the pins.

On your lamps, if the relationship between the position of the LED board and the position of the pins isn't 'favourable' for our installation, i.e. maybe front to back, you may get very little light output at all.

Reading that back, it all sounds a bit anal, but you'll see what I mean when you come to fit them.

Personally think they look better if you leave the spacer out, from in between light and the body Whistle

Is it a straight swap ? Remove the old one and fit the new one ? Regards
