my partner and i were feeding our twins last night. they both take 150ml.

my partner commented that this volume does not seem to have increased over the past few weeks even though they are growing.

i asked her to consider this volume as a sphere and compare it to the size of their abdomen's.

what size is the sphere? Confused

no internet or reference books allowed!!!

A sphere with a radius of 3.295cm has a volume of 150ml.

you must be using a sliderule blackwolf Laughing

with one of those new fangled calculators you should get 3.296cm

did you cheat though or can you remember that the volume of a sphere is four thirds pi R cubed?

Yup, I could. Sad, is it not? Even sadder was working out the answer using nothing but pencil, paper, and a (very old) set of log tables!

If any of the youngsters on this forum don't know what "log tables" are, I suggest Googling it.

I rest my case: Maths is a ****ing useless waste of time. Languages are by far 10x more useful.

I i needed to work this kind of **** out, i'd be a mathematician or an engineer of some sort. I'm not. Clearly.

True - I’ve got laid many times in non-English speaking parts with my good French, German and Spanish, and basic Bosnian, Creole, Arabic and Luxembourgish.

Oh, plus a wallet full of local currency, of course.
